Heavy-duty containerized diesel generator sets for sites without a reliable grid

Rated 1600 kW prime and 1760 kW standby at 2000 kVA, supplied as a 40HQ container package unit for utility-scale and multi-unit project power.

Where it is installed — mine and port power stations, gas engine power plants, district energy and CHP schemes — the 1600 kW set works at base-load duty, often in multi-unit parallel configuration. Distribution is usually through MV switchgear interface for the 1600 kW installations and multi-unit busbars.

Each 1600 kW set is assembled and load-tested in our own works. Outevo has produced diesel and gas sets including this 1600 kW rating generating sets since 2006 from a 20,000 m² manufacturing facility with a fully automatic line, and has delivered more than 2,000 sets to over 100 countries.

IP23 or higher protection is standard on the 1600 kW set, with higher grades available for dust, humidity, rain or heat.

Heavy-Duty Container Construction

The 1600 kW package arrives as one unit with the enclosure, base frame and control panel already assembled, so installation work on site is limited to positioning, cabling and commissioning.

1600 kW Prime / 1760 kW Standby Duty

Design duty at 1600 kW prime and 1760 kW standby is standby operation with a hard step load, which is why the alternator is matched against starting kVA rather than running kW alone.

Tier-1 Diesel Engine Platforms

The engine is drawn from the Cummins, Perkins, Weichai and Yuchai platforms and aligned to the alternator before full-load testing, which is the test that proves the step-load response.

Closed Water-Cooling with Forced Fan

Closed-circuit water cooling with forced fan and a large water tank keeps coolant temperature stable during long idle periods interrupted by sudden load, a pattern typical of data centre standby.

Industrial Protection and Environmental Adaptability

Sealed dustproof and anti-corrosion treatment to IP23 or higher, with fire-system and alarm interfaces available so the set integrates with the building life-safety scheme.

Flexible Configuration and Fast Deployment

ATS, remote monitoring and synchronising options can be specified; where two or more units share the load, control and load-sharing settings are configured to the site scheme.

1. IT and UPS support Takes over the critical bus when the utility fails, carrying servers, storage and network equipment through an outage of any duration.

2. Cooling and chilled-water plant Drives chillers, pumps and CRAC units so heat rejection continues after the mains drops, which is what actually protects the IT load.

3. Automatic transfer and paralleling Started through an optional ATS or a synchronising panel so the transition happens without an operator on site.
