Heavy-duty containerized diesel generator sets for sites without a reliable grid

Rated 1600 kW prime and 1760 kW standby at 2000 kVA, supplied as a 40HQ container package unit for utility-scale and multi-unit project power.

Where it is installed — mine and port power stations, gas engine power plants, district energy and CHP schemes — the 1600 kW set works at base-load duty, often in multi-unit parallel configuration. Distribution is usually through MV switchgear interface for the 1600 kW installations and multi-unit busbars.

Each 1600 kW set is assembled and load-tested in our own works. Outevo has produced diesel and gas sets including this 1600 kW rating generating sets since 2006 from a 20,000 m² manufacturing facility with a fully automatic line, and has delivered more than 2,000 sets to over 100 countries.

IP23 or higher protection is standard on the 1600 kW set, with higher grades available for dust, humidity, rain or heat.

Heavy-Duty Container Construction

The 1600 kW package is built on a rigid steel base frame that travels to site as one unit, with the enclosure protected against dust and gravel thrown up during haulage between benches.

1600 kW Prime / 1760 kW Standby Duty

Design duty at 1600 kW prime and 1760 kW standby is continuous pit operation at high load factor, with allowance for the repeated motor starting of crushers and dewatering pumps.

Tier-1 Diesel Engine Platforms

The engine is drawn from the Cummins, Perkins, Weichai and Yuchai platforms, then matched and aligned to the alternator before full-load testing on our own production line.

Closed Water-Cooling with Forced Fan

Closed-circuit water cooling with forced fan and a large water tank is specified because pit temperatures and altitude both reduce cooling margin at this rating.

Industrial Protection and Environmental Adaptability

Sealed dustproof, waterproof and anti-corrosion treatment to IP23 or higher, uprated on request for dust-laden benches and unshaded sites where ambient climbs through the afternoon.

Flexible Configuration and Fast Deployment

ATS, remote monitoring, cable winch and quick connectors can be specified so the set can be relocated with the working face without re-terminating the distribution.

Where this 1600 kW containerized diesel generator set is used

1. Pit and bench lighting Carries the floodlighting and auxiliary loads that keep a night shift productive, running through the full shift rather than short standby duty.

2. Crushers, conveyors and screens Powers crushing and conveying equipment where a stopped line backs up the whole plant, with headroom for the motor-starting surges of large drives.

3. Dewatering and slurry pumps Keeps dewatering pumps running so the pit floor stays workable after heavy rain, and takes the start current of submersible and slurry pumps.

4. Camp and accommodation blocks Supplies the mess, laundry and ablution load of a remote camp where the set sits close to living quarters and radiated noise has to be controlled.

5. Workshops and fuel farms Provides power for the mine workshop, tyre bay and fuel-transfer equipment, independent of whatever the site distribution board can deliver.

Open frame, silent or containerized — how do I choose?

Enclosure choice follows the site, not the rating. At 1600 kW the containerized build is normally chosen where the set stands near a camp or a control building and radiated noise matters; containerized and mobile builds use the same engine and alternator.

Can the voltage and frequency be customised?

Yes. 380/220 V and 50 Hz are the published standard for the 1600 kW rating, and voltage and frequency are set to the mine specification under OEM/ODM terms.

What is the minimum order quantity?

One set is enough to start. Where the pit load grows or redundancy is required, parallel operation and load sharing are configured so a second unit can be added later.

How is the quality of each unit assured?
